Why Sarah Visits Schools
I wrote MUD BOY to help children learn tabout the need to be kind and to understand what to do if others aren’t.
Sometimes children are unaware of how powerful words can be. Through storytelling and discussion, MUD BOY helps children explore empathy, kindness and standing up for others.
MUD BOY in the Classroom
MUD BOY supports conversations around:
- bullying and friendship
- emotional wellbeing
- empathy and kindness
- standing up for others
The story is suitable for agest 5-11 and can be used during assemblies, classroom discussions or wellbeing sessions.
Visit Options
Assembly Reading
A reading of MUD BOY with key themes explored through storytelling and disuccion.
This format works well for whole-school assemblies or year groups.
Story Basket Workshop
A more interactive session where children explore storytelling using objects and prompts.

Encouraging imagination and participation.
Other Options
Session can also include:
- sensory storytelling
